Tents

In the early spring before the bugs come it isn’t mandatory that you have a tent that is completely bug proof.  To make backpacking as light weight as possible you can now purchase backpacking tents that all you need is the footprint, the polls and the fly and you have a great covering for yourself.  The only downfall to not having the entire tent is that rain can come in underneath the fly (and so can little critters).

I was backpacking in Halliburton, Ontario and was only using my footprint and fly when I was woken up by something rustling in my hair.  It was a little mouse trying to make a nest in my hair.  I had to keep swatting it away and finally I put a hat on and bundled down in my sleeping bag.

Fun times and fun memories!
